A few years ago I had a gentleman come in that had been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for 25 years. He had progressively gone downhill during those 25 years. Every 6 months he went through reflex testing and other evaluations to measure his decline. Once a year he had a new MRI to see the number of lesions on the brain and to compare the size of the ones already noted.
He came to see me the day after a 6 month checkup. He had a scan and evaluation 6 months down the road and wanted to see how he responded to upper cervical chiropractic. He also chose to go off all his meds (this was a decision he made prior to coming). 25 years of evaluations and 25 years of declining scores had been the progress so far. I examined him found that the top vertebrae in his neck, the atlas, was misaligned and compressing tissues. Over the next 6 months we adjusted him when necessary and some amazing things happened. He had a toe he hadn’t been able to feel in 10 years get feeling back. His ability to walk improved dramatically. Daily headaches disappeared and his overall quality of life was dramatically better. As important as anything he had great hope for the future.
I’m sure you are wondering how the scan and evaluation went…...I will tell you one thing. We both did a little happy dance when he came in the day after to give me the results. ALL reflexes had improved and not only were his existing lesions smaller, there were ZERO new, and some were GONE!!
Is there a MS adjustment? No. Not at all. What I did find was the top bone in his neck was misaligned and putting pressure on the tissues surrounding his brainstem and spinal cord. This was disrupting the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from exiting the skull. When that happens there is a backup of the fluid and it hangs around too long. SInce CSF takes waste away from the brain, and we know waste can be toxic, the toxic chemicals can potentially damage the brainstem and lower portion of the brain. This can lead to the lesions so familiar to those who suffer from MS.
Once the bone is adjusted and the pressure is removed, the fluid is able to flow freely. This allows the waste to be taken away properly. The brain is like any other tissue in the body. It is able to heal itself in the proper environment.
If you cut your arm it heals right? Brain cells can regenerate themselves. They just need to have a clean environment and time.
A large number of MS cases can be traced to a previous neck injury. But until recently, researchers were unable to directly see the effects of this trauma. They now can see cerebral spinal fluid or CSF leaks and CSF flow obstructions in the brains of multiple sclerosis patients that have been made visible by new technology called phase coded MR imaging and specialized software.
Commenting on a recent study, the lead researcher, Raymond V. Damadian stated, “These new observations have uncovered biomechanical barriers (upper cervical misalignments) that appear to give rise to multiple sclerosis, and, even more excitingly, these barriers may be therapeutically addressable.” These corrections following the study were performed by an Upper Cervical chiropractor and the results were impressive. Pressure reduction was measured at 28.60%.
Based on these results, if you have MS, it makes sense to come in to Upper Cervical Health Centers of Fort Myers for a free consultation to have your upper cervical checked. It may not be the cause of MS issues in everyone, but there is a solid chance it could make a significant difference in the life of those suffering.
